What: Learn the basics of using data in spreadsheets, with Excel or Google Sheets. This will be an introduction to a 10 module CCR course called the Foundational Data Literacy Skills Training.

Why: Learning data skills and tools will help you gain insights and help you communicate your information more easily, and make you stand out in the job market.

Software: This course was designed to be completed in MS Excel or Google Sheets to allow equitable access.

Who: This workshop is designed for those new to working with data and spreadsheets, or those interested in the Co-Curricular Record credit for the Foundational Data Literacy Skills training. Participants from any discipline: Human Geography, Social Sciences, or Sciences are encouraged to participate. There are no prerequisites or assumptions of knowledge.

How: This is a 2 hour in-person workshop, consisting of a short lecture and then a series of demonstrations, which you can follow along with or just watch, interspersed with self-paced activities. There are no breaks.
