Research and Innovation Services

The Office of Research and Innovation Services administers research grants and contracts and is the point of contact for the federal granting councils (NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR, CFI), government ministries, industry, associations and foundations which typically provide financial support for the university scholarship research and creative activities.

Carey Toane

Carey helps U of T students and faculty conduct effective research to support entrepreneurial education and exploration. She joined the University of Toronto as Entrepreneurship Librarian at the Gerstein Science Information Centre in 2015. She has worked as a business librarian at University of Western Ontario and York University, and spent over a decade as a marketing journalist and editor, copywriter and content marketer at digital agencies and startups in Canada and the Nordic Region.

Heather Cunningham

I am actively engaged in developing a suite of services and resources to support faculty and student research, innovation, and information in the health and life sciences.

  • developing the systematic, scoping (and other types of knowledge syntheses) service
  • understanding the landscape of research impact and publication metric support
  • supporting entrepreneurship services and resources
  • Currently, I am also the Interim Assistant Director for Education & Information Serives.
