Making History: Contributions of Faculty in Science & Medicine

On October 9, 2014, the Gerstein Science Information Centre celebrated the achievements of faculty members of the University of Toronto in the areas of science and medicine with the installation of 30 historic photographs in the Gerstein Heritage Reading Room.

Drawn from the collections of the University of Toronto Archives, the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library, the Hospital for Sick Children Archives, and the grandson of John Gerald FitzGerald, these photographs highlight the story of the significant contributions made by a wide range of U of T scientists, including Frederick Banting, Charles Best, Calvin Gotlieb, and Helen Sawyer Hogg.
